Victor Barata

Main qualifications and associations:

  • Civil engineer (Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, 1974);
  • Senior member Nº 11726 of the Portuguese Engineering Council.

Vast experience as coordinator and works supervisor at the Portuguese Road Bridges State Department. Designer of a wide range of structures, the following to be highlighted:

José Paulo Cruz

Main qualifications and associations:

  • Civil engineer (Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, 1988);
  • Master of Science (M. Sc.) in construction (Instituto Superior Técnico, 1993);
  • Senior member No 22897 and Structures Specialist of the Portuguese Engineering Council;
  • Member of the College of Civil Engineering of the South Region of the Portuguese Engineering Council.

Jorge Sousa Cruz

Main qualifications and associations:

  • Civil engineer (Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, 1974);
  • Senior member Nº 12343 and Geotechnical Expert of the Portuguese Engineering Council;
  • Member  of the Portuguese Commission on Large Dams.

Wide professional experience, the following to be highlighted:

GEOLOGY

José Amaral

Main qualifications and associations:

  • Engineering Geologist (Faculdade de Ciências, Porto, 1985);
  • Member Nº D406 of the Portuguese Association of Geologists.

Experience in the design, construction and monitoring, as well as consulting and risk management of large engineering works. Some of his latest collaborations are:

  • Detailed design for several dams and viaducts in Algeria and Tunisia;
  • Detailed design and technical assistance of construction of a tunnel for the hydraulic circuit park reservoir LNG in Sines;
  • Coordination of the geological and geotechnical proposal for the high speed ​railway line Lisbon – Madrid tender;
  • Consultancy for the preliminary and feasibility studies of new lines of Metro do Porto.
ROADS AND RAILWAYS

Evaristo Silva

Main qualifications and associations:

  • Geographer (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 1996);
  • Member Nº 1068 of the Portuguese Geographer Association;

Within his vast professional experience, the technical coordination of different studies and projects, at different stages, of more than 200 Km of railways, 800 Km of motorways and 700 Km of roads are to be considered and highlighted the following:

  • Light tramway in Almada city;
  • High-speed railway stretches, Lisboa-Montemor and Aveiro-Celorico da Beira;
  • Motorways and roads, public-private partnerships:
    • Highway A2, Aljustrel/Castro Verde;
    • Highway A6, Estremoz/Borba;
    • Highway A7, Fafe/Ribeira de Pena;
    • Highway A17, Louricel/A14.
HYDRAULIC

António Bento Franco

Main qualifications and associations:

  • Civil engineer (Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa 1980);
  • PhD in Civil Engineering (Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisboa 1997);
  • Senior member Nº 20978 and Hydraulics and Water Resources Specialist of the Portuguese Engineering Council.

Consultant engineer and assistant professor at Instituto Superior Técnico. Project participation to be highlighted:

  • Tagus and West rivers basin master plans;
  • Several small hydropower plans;
  • Primary irrigation network of Cova da Beira;
  • Water supply system of Terra Quente Transmontana;
  • Water-course regularization of Algés river;
  • Safety Plans for the Santa Clara, Monte da Rocha and Roxo dams.

It was also member of EPAL Administration Board for the technical area between 2005 – 2012.
