The Geotechnical department has contributed over the years for studies and construction projects of great importance, such as:
Geological Studies and Geotechnics Designs
- Planning, conducting and reporting of geological-geotechnical surveys;
- Definition of geological and geotechnical settings for ground foundation design;
- Seismological studies;
- Geodynamics analysis.
Underground Structures
- Tunnels and caverns:
- Use of various construction methods: NATM; TBM; and Cut and Cover;
- Prediction of ground movements and impacts on superficial structures;
- Support for selection of construction methods;
- Pits/wells.
