Vale Flores viaduct
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN / SERVICES CARRIED OUT
Bridge deck constructed with pre-fabricated pre-tensed concrete girders,
with pre-fabricated pre-tensed concrete panels and a “in-situ” concrete
pouring of the remaining slab. Over the intermediate supports there is
continuity pre-stress at the slab level. The deck is divided longitudinally in
the half length of the viaduct and transversally for each of road-ways, in a
total of four independent structures.
The infrastructure of each deck is realised with two piers with circular cross
section and a superior beam forming a frame. Two kinds of foundations
were used: pier-pile; and a longitudinal binary of piles.
The two abutments are spill through type, with great robustness, to allow
the connection to the decks through hydraulic dissipating seismic energy
devices.
