Hintze Ribeiro Bridge over Douro River



CONCEPTUAL DESIGN / SERVICES CARRIED OUT

Concrete filled steel circular tubes Ø2,0 m were used for submerged piers embedded in the granitic rock mass and connected at the top level by pile caps executed over floating caissons. The deck is a composite steel-concrete structure and the steel part pas been launched by lift-push method. The precast slabs are in reinforced concrete and are connected among them and to the steel structure with self-compacting concrete.
